TOWN TREASURER – THROUGH 7/1/2024

The Town of Tazewell is in search of an individual to fill the position of Town Treasurer. The Treasurer is hired by and reports to the Town Manager. The Treasurer will be responsible for overseeing the Treasurer’s Department which consists of utility billing, property tax billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Treasurer responsibilities also include yearly financial audits, monthly department reconciliations, bank reconciliations, financial reporting to Town Council, along with other various tasks.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is strongly preferred, as well as 2-3 years’ experience in the field. The Treasurer will be using accounting software on a daily basis, as well as Microsoft Excel. Applicants should have the following qualities: excellent communication skills, able to multitask, hardworking, organized, able to work well under pressure, excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to meet deadlines.

SEASONAL LIFEGUARDS
The Town of Tazewell is now taking applications for seasonal lifeguards for Lincolnshire Pool and Aqua Park. Applicant must be 15 years old or older and have Red Cross Certification with CPR/AED Training. Duties include supervising swimming activities, ensuring that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed, handling admission fees, and deep cleaning of all pool operations. Applicant will be exposed to the sun for long periods of time and work long shifts including weekends. INTERMEDIATE, PARAMEDIC, AND EMT POSITIONS
Applicants must be certified in Virginia or National Registry with CPR , ACLS, PALS, certified EVOC or equivalent and be at least 21 years old. Applicants must be able to pass all background checks, application references, prior employment references, drug screenings, driver record check, and criminal history check.
